This course draws upon the two publications: 1. Rosenshine’s Principles of Instruction (2012) and 2. Sherrington’s Principles in Action (2019). Rosenshine’s original work first introduced ten (10) research-based instructional Practices. Later, Sherrington categorized these Practices into four (4) Strands. Sherrington (2019) furthered Rosenshine’s (2012) work by categorizing the ten (10) Practices into four (4) Strands. By doing this, he made the Practices more manageable for learning and discussion.
